Washington, DC

Next stop:  Washington DC.

After an eventful couple of days in New York, we continued our journey to Washington, DC.  We took the train from New York to Washington.  The train ride was surprisingly comfortable!   Comfy chair and smooth ride in general, although we did have to make multiple stops along the way.

First of, we went for dinner at Ray's Steak House.  Oh WOW!  One of the best steaks that we've ever tried, and they also come in very generous portions.  I mean, they were gigantic!   Unfortunately my stomach was being a sissy and was feeling uncomfortable, so I didn't get to enjoy all the goodness.   So I promise myself that I shall come back here one day.

On the next day, we went to see the White House (of course...), and went for a long walk around town.   We stopped by the World Bank building as well, to take pictures.   I know, I know, we're such tourists!  :)

Yours truly, posing in front of our hotel.  With Starbucks in hand, of course ;)

After we had lunch, we went to the Museum of Natural History. Yayyy!!  I love museums.   But this is also the part where I almost fainted.  LOL.  Fail.   It was so extremely hot and humid there.  I think I'm just not used to the weather, and the humidity simply reminded me of Jakarta.   When I was young and living in Jakarta, I would faint religiously every Mondays (well...maybe every-other-Monday).  We used to have an outdoor flag ceremony on Mondays, and I was always the number customer at our Nurse's office.   Tee hee hee.

As we were lining up for the museum entrance, I opted to sit down under a big tree. HAHAH.  So lame, but I swear i was so close to fainting....like...cold sweats and all.   Bathroom was my first destination as soon as we got into the museum. So anyway, after I survived the nausea spells, we went back to enjoy the museum.
I loved, loved, loved that museum!  So many awesome things to see, and everything is so well maintained and clean.   And the animals.  OH!  the animals.  My favourite displays of all time.

Acting silly after I recovered.  He..he..he..

Hai!!

We also went into the butterfly exhibit, where we got to hangout with flying butterflies!  They're definitely not shy of humans.

The next day, we went to the Lincoln Memorial :)
It was quite inspiring, and it was such a beautiful day to be visiting the memorial.
Again, it was super duper hot.  I tried to stay under the shade as much as I can, but there were no trees!!!  so I stayed as close to President Lincoln whenever possible.   It's actually quiet cool in there.

After a long day at the Memorial, we went to the Smithsonian American Art Museum before we headed back to the hotel.  I couldn't find any worthy pictures to be posted on this blog, except for this one.   There were a bunch of pictures of me looking like a total slob.  I've told you before, I can't do any of those "candid" pics.  So the boyfriend tried to take candid pics of me admiring artworks at the museum.  Fail.  LOL.  Definitely not worth posting.

That's it for now!  Til i see you next time!

More stories and more pictures of food in the next posts :)
