My bestfriend's wedding: H - 1
Back to Magda's wedding. Oh, and for ease of tracking, I'm tagging these wedding stories under "Magda-Frans". :)
This is H minus 1 day. Jana and I arrived on Thursday at Bali, and went to the venue soon after for the rehearsal and meeting with the venue crew (lighting crew, food service crew, tent crew, sound system crew, etc). This was also the first time I got to meet the rest of the bridesmaids, and thankfully we clicked right away, so the rehearsal went so smoothly.
The venue was absolutely stunning! The Ritual is located in the Uluwatu area, about 1 hour away from our lodging. Which was quiet far, but totally worth it! And to make everything even more perfect, it was a beautiful sunny day, even though it had been raining the previous days.
We basically went through the whole she-bang. The preparation before the ceremony, the entrance (which was the only part that makes me nervous since we would have to walk up the stairs towards the chapel in our long-dress and heels...eek!! have to walk slowly...slooowly and carefully), and the holy matrimony. The wedding would be a Catholic wedding, we went through the procession step by step. By the time we were done, it was getting dark, and we had to head back to the hotel to meet up with the groomsmen, as well as a short rehearsal with the pastor.
On a more personal note, Magda shared the room with Jana and I. She was the happiest bride-to-be. And most care-free. I think she had thought everything through, and managed to delegate all the stuff to her Event Organizer. So at the end of the day, she got to relax and really get a lot of rest before the big day tomorrow. I totally adore you, dear Magda.
While the bride went to bed and rest, Jana and I went outside of the room and....frantically began writing our speech for tomorrow. HAHAHAHA. We are the bestest friends ever. Magda could only shake her head, gave us a dirty look, and went to bed. It was also during that time Jana and I had a chance to catch up, on everything that we have been missing out for the past 3 years. This is my definition of best friend. We could live with not seeing each other for many years, and when it came the time to meet again, we clicked right away and could talk continuously for days about everything. Me love yous!
It was close to 3am when Jana and I finished our THOUGHTS on the speech. Yup, you got that right, the speech was not finalized yet at this time. We knew what we were going to say. We were going to make Magda cry with happiness. Not too much crying, just a little bit of happy-cry :)
We went and joined Magda, and slept the night away. Until about 6am when I was woken up by a loud knock on the door. And I thought "ah shit. really? we're late??!!". But when I opened the door, guess who were outside? Magda's friends, in their beach attires, and they had been knocking on the wrong door. FML. They meant to knock on the door next to us, which is where another friend of Magda's stayed. Damn you all!! LOL. Oh well, I went back to bed for another couple of hours.
Okeee, story to be continued. I'm going to go to Papah Wid & Mamah Ani's house for Chinese New Year. Hello, delicious food :):):)
