Review: Dan Niu Noodle House + Hot Star Chicken

Okay.  We're finally at the end of Day 2!

After a couple of hours of lounging around in the Airbnb, we finally decided to head out and seize the day (and eat more). LOL.  Da Niu Noodle house is highly rated in multiple platforms and it's within walking distance from our Airbnb.

So off we went!  The restaurant was pretty packed at late-night and on a week day.  We luckily were able to get a table in an air conditioned room!

We ordered 2 dishes based on the recommendation of the person who was working the cashier. LOL.  We figured it was the easiest way to try their best sellers!  Oh, we also have to point out that all the staff here spoke English and were all very friendly!

We got the beef noodle and the fried rice.  Both items were delicious!  The beef noodle, though, we thought that Vancouver probably had one of the better ones so we're not really missing out.  The same with the fried rice; while it was delicious, we had pretty good ones back in Vancouver.

The portion of both dishes were pretty generous but not over the top.  Just enough for the two of us.  And the damage?  Less than $10CAD total for both!

After we finished our dinner, we went for another walk around the neighbourhood.

And guess where we ended up next?  at Hot Star!  HAHAHA.   This stall is just across the street from Shinkuchan so it's really convenient.

I know that we have Hot Star in Vancouver, but it's so frigging expensive, so we've always wanted to try the real thing in Taiwan (and perhaps at a cheaper cost).   Here we are!  Finally happened!  It taste the same as the one in Vancouver; we actually prefer Angel fried chicken.... sorry Hot Star fans.  The price is definitely a lot cheaper than Vancouver's price though, just like everything else in Taiwan.

This was a great salty snack to close the day!  We couldn't ask for more.

OK, there, Day 2 finally done, and we came out 20lbs heavier at least.  LOL.
