Review: Burgers etc
One more post of the day, then I'm off resting for the rest of the day (I pulled a 10-hour shift at the office yesterday, which was not a good idea since I woke up with a stiff neck this morning. *sigh*). This is actually an outdated post, very very outdated. LOL. We ate at the restaurant (and took pictures) a long long time ago, and I had forgotten all about it.
Anyway. Burgers etc is a restaurant on Hastings Street in Burnaby. We first heard about this place from RS and decided to go and try it since we're a big fan of anything barbecued. Hoorah BBQ!!!
Because we heard they have the "best burger", of course we ordered that exact item, the charbroiled burger with a side of corn. Look at the picture. Look delicious or what?? They serve a pretty generous portion too (for me, at least). As you may have predicted, my mouth couldn't fit the burger so I had to take it apart to eat it. I know, shame on me. Anyway, back to the topic... the meat itself was very tasty and tender, unlike some burger meat that tend to be on the dry side. There was no need to add more condiments to the burger, the regular order satisfied our tum-tum (you have the option to add bacon, onion, mushroom, peppers, and many more).
I know, you don't see fries in the picture, but no need to worry. We ordered another dish that was served with French fries. LOL. We ordered the sampler dish, with beef brisket and bbq ribs, with a side of fries and sauteed mushroom. The ribs were good, very similar to Memphis Blues'...the meat wasn't very moist, unlike Tony Romas' ribs. But it was packed with flavour! I actually liked Burgers etc. 's bbq sauce more than I liked Memphis Blues' bbq sauce.
The brisket is another story. We are HUGE lovers of Memphis Blues' extremely tender, a bit fatty brisket. Burger etc's brisket was not as tender and fatty; it had a bit of a bite to it, which some people prefer rather than the tender, fatty brisket. For us personally, we still liked Memphis Blues' brisket. BUT, we would come back to eat at Burgers etc since our experience there has been quiet pleasant.
