Tulip Festival 2010
Riska, Christina, and I took a short trip down south to see the tulips! Skagit holds the annual tulip festival and the last time I went was in 2002, so I was excited! Plus, I got to go with the girls. We left in the morning (we were late, too) and got held up in the border lineup for a good 1.5 hours. Oh well...CAD & USD are on par, can't blame the Canadians for driving south to shop.
Anywho, the tulips were beautiful! We were initially disappointed because the border guard told us that they've started chopping the tulips. What????? The website lied bigtime (they said the festival runs until May). As we were driving towards the festival, we saw all these empty fields. Aw man.....but then we found Tulip Town. Yeah, not a big patch of tulips, but still awesome!
We stayed for a while, took gazillion pictures of tulips. You see the dark purple tulips? Those are my favourites!! By the end of the day, though, all 3 of us had runny nose and wind-blown hair. LOL. It was so freakin' cold and windy that day! We were lucky the rain stopped right when we arrived at the tulip festival.
Other than taking a trip to the tulip patch, we went on an eating and shopping spree. Hello!! Lunch at Red Lobster and dinner Chaiyo. We shopped at Nordstrom and Northgate like madwomen. Here's the highlight though...we went grocery shopping at Target like old-crazy-madwomen. Hahaha.
