New lens!!
Waaaaa waaaaaaaa...my new lens that I purchased through eBay arrived this afternoon. Woot woot!!! I knew it had been in town since Thursday, and that UPS tried to deliver it on Friday..unfortunately nobody was home. But today, he was home so he could receive the item. Yayyyy!!
I tried it briefly, and it was great!! Yes, it is a Tamron instead of its Canon expensive counterpart. I honestly do not have the money to buy the Canon one, but hey, the specs are very similar with 1/2 the price. Of course, I didn't forget to do some research on the internet first to make sure I get the best I could (Tamron vs. Sigma vs. Tokina). Based on the reviews, most people prefer Tamron for the spec that I want: 17-50mm f2.8. The Canon counterpart has a spec of 17-55mm f2.8. See? Pretty similar right?
I have tried this (Canon) lens before (using CG's camera..hehe..Gekkkk, aku udah beli lensa yang mirip punya kamu!) and I love the background blur and its sharpness under low-light condition. Yes it's heavier than my current lens (Canon 28-105mm), but I can't tell you how much sharper this lens is!! I'm really hoping Tamron will produce a comparable result. But of course, I have to compromise...with lower price, comes lower mechanical performance. The Autofocus function is quiet noisy, unlike Canon..it almost sounds like an electric saw everytime I try to change the focus. LOL. Again, as long as it produces the same quality pictures, I don't mind :)
I'm going to try it once the clouds go away, hopefully by the end of this week? Please, Vancouver? Be nice to me for once and give me some sunshine!!!
