David Choi @ the Media Club
Here's an overdue review of David Choi's concert.
On Nov. 19, 2009 we went to watch David Choi @ the Media Club. I believe I've written a couple of posts about him. I know him from Youtube, back when he was still doing covers of other artists' songs. Now he has written several original songs and has released an album. Needless to say, we're a big fan!!
Even though the concert was on a Thursday night (baca: hari kerja, which means I have to wake up early the next day) and it started at 10.30pm (baca: I'm usually in bed by 10pm), Mit, him, and I decided to go anyway to support his first concert. RS & his gf also went, we met up with them at the Media Club. We got there just in time to see the opening artist, Jessica Beach. She was pretty good, more into the jazzy side, I think. Oh, I was very surprised to see the club was packed..with Asians. LOL. Awesome.
Then Choi took the stage, and everybody went crazy, especially those at the front. And Choi, of course, fed off of those excitement; he went back and forth for a while, and posed. That gave the audience a lot of chances to take pictures. Hehehehe.
Soon after, he picked up his guitar and started singing. Whewwwww...he was great!! I mean, yeah, sure, I've heard him before from Youtube. But listening to him sing live was different! I thought I would not enjoy his show much, because this show was intended to promote his new album (ie. new songs/originals). Surprisingly, his new songs are very very catchy; I loved them right away. One of my favourite ones were This is the Way, and Uneasy...please check him out on Youtube. Don't forget to listen to the words, they're simple but sweet.
All in all, for a $15-concert, it was super awesome!!
